The Need

Consultants play an important role in the industry as well as in facilitating economic development of the country. There is a paradigm shift in the Consulting Profession in the last few decades in the country and Consulting Sector is positioning itself as one of the promising areas for Management Professionals.

The demand for Consulting in various sectors of economy as well as in emerging areas has increased tremendously in the last few years. Consultancy Development Centre

Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) is an Autonomous Institution of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) of Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, working towards promoting and strengthening Consultancy skills and capabilities including export of Consultancy Services. CDC is also the nodal agency in the Asia Pacific region for the Technical Consultancy Development Programme for Asia and the Pacific (TCDPAP), a programme promoted by the United Nation Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

Objectives of Programme
  • To prepare professionals for a career in Management Consulting

Examination

This is another flagship programs of IIKM offered in Calicut-Kerala campus, bench marked against the curriculum designed of the Indian context. Eligibility : Graduate (10+2+3) and final year students, from a UGC recognized University Selection Process: Selection is based on aptitude test and online psychometric test. A valid score on CAT/ MAT / XAT/ IIKM Entrance Test. Those who are not taken these entrance exams can take IIKM Entrance exam.

Global Strategic Management - GSM

The GSM Program in Management juxtaposes the courses of the MBA Program with additional courses which are either prescribed by the industry or motivated by our experience of placing students. The additional course not only gives a well rounded knowledge but makes them relevant and ready for the industry. The curriculum incorporates a few foundation modules designed to equip the students with professional skills of communication, decision making, thinking and Industry experience. Universities Curriculum rarely focuses upon skills development in students. All over the world there is a focus on skills required while performing at workplace such as language, communication and negotiation skills etc. The basic purpose of above said is to increase the employability factor of students, only traditional class room & lab trainings are not enough. MoU with ICWA

To reflect the globalization of business and the importance of sound management accounting practices in all parts of the world, IMA® and the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI), a statutory body enacted under an Act of Parliament of India, have entered into a joint partnership agreement. At the cornerstone of the partnership is a mutual recognition of each organization’s respective certifications, allowing automatic award of IMA’s Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) certification for ICWAI’s Cost and Works Accountant (CWA) certificate holders. With 42,000 qualified professionals, ICWAI is the regulating authority of the cost and management accounting profession in India.

The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA. The MoU will enable recognition of the professional qualification of the respective institutes. Both the institutes will develop the profession of management accountancy for the benefit of their members and students. According to the MoU, a member of ICWAI can get enrolled as a member of IMA USA and vice-versa. However, an IMA member enrolling as a member of ICWAI will not be allowed to hold a certificate of practice to undertake any statutory work in India.
